The demand for services that we arent allowed to get right now has never been stronger.
You just dont realize it because the government wont let us do it.
This is why we are focused now on reopening, this needs a plan just as much as shutting down did, and in some ways more so.
Shut down you just lock the door. Opening up, you have to plan for safety and fill the 100%+ demand with 50% of the space. this is why this coronavirus task force is being replaced with the reopening task force. Public pressure and court decisions are forcing that even liberal states that dont want to reopen, will, and sooner than expected.

No, but for most people it does. There are many people I hate and don't follow, but there are a couple that I do follow because they're stupidly funny.
Then you can make the same argument about Obama or AOC. A lot of people can't stand them, but they'll join just for laughs.
I because of his stance on many issues, he's picked and gained many as well for this year.
Most will probably blame China and even many of these governors if they don't let these people out to make a living.

No demand, no need for supply. Econ 101.

economics didnt cause it, so economics will not be involved in "uncausing" it.

Hahahahaha! I hope you are correct, but something called economics tells me you aren't.

They will all happily be reemployed by then. and Dems will be falsely claiming that Trump doesnt get credit for creating 30 million jobs in 6 months prior to the election.

Are you saying Donny will lose the popular vote by more than 3 million votes, which was his deficit in 2016?!
2 ( +2 / -0 )
bass4funk
I disagree.
as I said, some might do that, but not the majority. I also follow a few CNN anchors for laughs.

Ah_so
Bass - to call this circular reasoning is giving it too much credit. Your evidence that "the overwhelming vast majority" of Trump's 79.4m Twitter followers are supporters is that there are 79.4m Twitter followers.
This is a rather extreme example of begging the question.
I follow Trump in Twitter just for entertainment value.

Jimizo
You ask for a source showing the "overwhelmingly vast majority" of the 79.4 million who follow Trump on Twitter are supporters, and you get the answer "79.4 million followers".
Absolutely preposterous approach to a discussion.

I just want to express my outrage again about how the media reports Donny's words and actions and how that is completely unfair. We can't really expect the president to act presidential, correct?

Back to citing polls again. I love this demonstrates of hypocrisy.
The number of people that follow Donny on Twitter is not evidence that the vast majority of those people support him. Circular logic, which is a failure of logic. Chasing one's own tail.

Read posts on this site and this thread where Fauci is demonized.
Trump is pointing blame at others and away from his ongoing failures. He, like demagogues throughout history knows it's easier to keep followers united against common enemies, real or imagined. And given there's little if anything positive to say about his admin's programs these days, he's finding more and more enemies. And distracting from his socialistic bailouts benefiting mainly his fellow elite.

Fox news is the most watched news channel in America, by a wide margin. Sinclair Broadcasting owns almost 300 TV stations and is the largest broadcasting company in America. Rupert Murdoch owns a 19 billion dollars media machine. And all of these outlets try to pass thelseves as a proverbial David against the Goliath that is the supposed "left wing media" (which for them encompasses any media that does not share their ideas, and sources such as, as like people here often point out, Reuters), when in reality, they are not only the giant one in this fight, but also hold several slingshots.

Why? You said he's a nobody and nobody watches him. Strange that you'd check him all the time.

The overwhelming vast majority are. I check Don Lémon's twitter all the time as well as the other nut jobs on CNN and msnbc, I just don't follow them
Likewise, lots of liberal memes to howl at. Lol

What are you talking about?
Yes, but compared to the liberal media machine, those sites are a drop in an ocean of liberal one-sided talking points.

Not everyone who follows him on Twitter is a supporter. It's a mine of unintended and intended comedy, trash and conspiracy theories. Some of my friends send me his comical unhinged nonsense. It can be entertaining.

Only one-sided? Using online media sources I'm able to find dozens of different perspectives.
I suggest you look at Sinclair Broadcasting, One America News Network, any of Rupert Murdoch's many global outlets, Breitbart, RT, and if those aren't enough try Drudge or any number of others. Plus there are far right blogs galore.

Dr. Fauci: "We know with infections like this, that at least for a reasonable period, you're gonna have antibodies that are protective...if we get infected in February/March and recover, next September, October, that person who's infected — I believe — is going to be protected."
But once he got attacked by the liberal media for this and once NY and CA announced studies that millions of people have these antibodies already......he changes his tune to support the stay at home crowd. total change of narrative between 10 April and 20 April. Now It coming back in the second wave and he is "urging caution" about these antibody tests.
Does this guy definitively answer anything? it could this, it could that, caution this, unsure that.

They don't give him a fair shot anyway, enter Twitter, this way, he can get his message out, instead of us being subjected to a one-sided media barrage jihad that only care about one thing and that's taking this President out and until they play fair, he will voice his side and to his growing 79.4 million followers.

Fauci joins Hillary, Obama and CNN as enemies of Trump supporters. The list of enemies grows daily. Trump knows he needs to keep his forces riled - and distracted.

The media should definitely stop reporting on Donny's words and actions.
Not to mention that he'd simply going on twitter rampages to get attention.

Can you give examples of things the "liberals" falsely claimed Trump has said and that would warrant such distrust?
But you had complete access to all of that before Trump decided to do the press briefings himself. All press briefings are televised and available, that's actually what they are for. So this isn't an argument for Trump appearing on TV himself.
OK, Fauci and Birx are the enemies now, we get it.
Can you give examples of topics the president has called public attention to and that "the liberal media wont cover"?

He can study it all he wants. Off camera and in his regular job, pre-task force. Or he can be booked on CNN or write his book. As I said above.

Because the virus will realize we are opening up and won't need anyone to continue to study it anymore?

The first wave is STILL rising. And it was still rising with stay at home in place. Now it will rise faster with the relaxing of these conditions.
Trump and his administration have mishandled the situation so badly it will be a textbook example in the future how NOT to respond to pandemics.
This is serious. Deadly serious. Nobody is 100% immune. Many survivors are reported to have long term damage. There is no vaccine and will not be for some time. Unless the world sticks to strict protocols, most people will know someone who died from this.
3 ( +3 / -0 )
bass4funk
That's especially driven by the Trump hate media machine, their first priority is, hit Trump hard, keep the message going for days and hope they can peel off his support.
Yes, but any rational person would understand, that is something you never want to ever do. Common sense.
Well, I have to say, some of that is true, but at the same time, Trump would be less visible if the media didn't hound him all the time for every little thing and the more they pile on, the more the President will fight back.

yeah! How dare the media report Donny's words. Quoting him is competent bias!
Donny's fans think any reasonable question that Incompetent Donny can't answer is a gotcha question.
Determining bias based on facial reactions. Very scientific.
Experts typically cringe when morons open their mouths about the experts' areas of expertise. It's not bias, it's disgust.
The logic failures just don't stop.

Just as an example of the sheer hard-line dumbassery of the forces ranged against a logical coordinated response to the epidemic in the USA, here's Republican Congressman Andy Biggs of Arizona:
"Give them (the Task Force public health experts) the gold watch and say, 'Thank you, exit stage left'," Republican congressman Andy Biggs told the Fox Across America radio program over the weekend.
"It's time for them to go out and be quarantined without a government paycheck and see how they like that. We'll see how they like it."
I'd like to see how you'd like it if you or yours get the coronavirus, idiot.
5 ( +5 / -0 )

I disagree.
I enjoyed seeing the live coronavirus task force briefings. Because (1) I could see what in real time what was actually said, not what the media/liberals claimed was said (2) I could see the angry gotcha press asking their biased questions (3) I could observe Fauci and Birx in real time and see their facial reactions in order to form my opinion about their motives and competency. (4) I always enjoy seeing our President speak and defend hard working Americans.
Tweets are also great to call public attention to topics the liberal media wont cover.
-6 ( +0 / -6 )

I never implied I was watching any of it. The problem is that every stupid or misinformed thing he says during those live TV apparitions automatically makes news and has repercussions on the world. And the media of course gobbles it up as well. And then I have to hear about it. And then, for example, read people defending the idea of ingesting disinfectant to cure Covid-19 on the internet.
I don't think anyone disagrees on the fact that Trump would be a more efficient president if he didn't hog the cameras and tweet so much.
5 ( +5 / -0 )

Or you could just not watch it? then it doenst exist for you while others who like it can continue to enjoy it.

No, I said it would be great if he continued to work without having to appear in front of a camera or on CNN all the time. There's a slight nuance there.
I take you on your word. No more live Trump show on TV.
2 ( +2 / -0 )
Blacklabel
you said it would be great if Trump didnt appear on camera or CNN.
He is granting your wish, as you wont see him on camera anymore as part of the coronavirus task force cancellation. and you wont see him on CNN unless they decided to show him talking to someone else. baby steps.

Who is "you"? Because I didn't write or participate in any of these opinion pieces.
Also, I might point out that both of the links you posted complain about the lack of press briefings, not the lack of "Trump rambling on live TV for two hours". That's not quite the same thing. Press briefings can and have generally always been held without the presence of the president. That's what a press secretary is for.

I think I'll start using opinion pieces as evidence to support by generalizations.

Who we dont want to hear from anymore is Fauci. He is no longer needed once we have decided to open. His negative attitude about everything but the big pharma drug he supports is counterproductive. He got us through flattening the curve, so thanks. but its time to go back to what he was doing before the task force.
If you want to hear from him more, watch CNN. and read his upcoming book that we know will be coming before November.

"We'd like to share what we mean by that. In any great democracy, an informed public strengthens the nation. The public has a right to know what its government is doing, and the government has a duty to explain what it is doing.
For the president and the administration this is a matter of both self-interest and national interest. The presidents we served believed a better-informed public would be more supportive of the president's policy and political objectives."
So you wanted to hear from the President when you didnt, but now you claim you dont.

Since the focus has shifted to reopening the economy it means there is nothing to worry about regarding COVID-19, so we don't need the task force. Pretty "logical" to me.

I agree the virus started in China. But not 'all because'.
Governments everywhere had more than enough evidence early on to take action to implement measures to protect their populations, but few did.
Blame China. It deserves it. But blame also needs to be shared by political and business leaders, i.e. the globe's 'elite' who put lives of millions of people at risk because their first interest was protecting their elite status, their wealth and power.

The IHME projections are presented as a statistical range of outcomes. The latest forecast predicts the cumulative number of U.S. deaths from COVID-19 will run from as few as 95,092 to as many as 242,890 by Aug. 4 - with 134,475 lives lost representing the most likely, middle ground.
All because China allowed the virus from Wuhan to leave the Wuhan area, and to leave China. China spent the first several months importing PPE, masks, and other protective gear, while they hid the obvious dangers from the rest of the world. Of course, the WHO was too busy protecting China's reputation, instead of alerting the world that a deadly pandemic had been released.

Shame. This is on government at all levels everywhere. Including China where it began. Especially the highest levels. Xi and the CPC have clearly shown rot starts at the top. Same in the US. Trump and admin have shown the same thing. Trump brought his rottenness to further add to an already rotten DC swamp.
